Hi.

I just noticed that the up/down arrows in "Player configuration" - "Shutdown" are reversed. I.e. I would expect the up button to increase the shutdown time, and the down button to decrease it, but up decreases and down increases.

I already mailed this to bugs@empeg.com. BTW: Is this still the valid adress for bug reports?

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Seriously, the default is for Windows to do this. It's bizarre, I know.

I'd have to add some code to fix it (rather than just check the "Auto-buddy" box, which is what I actually did).

Ah, digging in MSDN reveals the following:

You can change the minimum and maximum positions of an up-down control by using the UDM_SETRANGE message. The maximum position may be less than the minimum, and in that case clicking the up arrow button decreases the current position. To put it another way, up means moving towards the maximum position. To retrieve the minimum and maximum positions for an up-down control, use the UDM_GETRANGE message.

I'll take a look at it later.

And, yes, that email address does still work.

Well, it's fixed in both now. So you'll see the fix in whichever of v1.04 or v1.1 comes out first.

Nope. We're planning on working on v1.1, once we've finished work on censored. However, if someone discovers a show-stopping bug in v1.03, then we'll have to release a v1.04.

Sssshhh! Don't anybody tell him that any FID # that is evenly* divisible by pi gets erased in v1.03. He might consider it a show-stopper!

*evenly meaning to 8 significant digits... so if your FID # is 31415927, you might be in trouble. Of course, only a few people have more than 31 million songs on their empegs.

Hasn't anyone reported the bug that upon every 23rd sync unleashes the 'bad times' virus? And I was being so careful too!
This virus has been known to erase your harddrive, chase after and torment your boy/girl friend while leaving bacon cooking on the stove, let down the tyres on your car, tell rude jokes to your boss over the phone while impersonating your voice, spam your friends with hate email and is a particularly interesting shade of mauve.
I think that is pretty show stopping!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
